Some Effects of Sodium Salts on the Growth of the Tomato.

چکیده
In a previous study (6) the influence of high osmotic concentrations of sodium salts and nutrient solutions upon the vegetative development of the tomato was reported, hut no data were obtained on the fruiting responses. To investigate this problem, to obtain further information on the relative toxicity of the Cland SO,= ions, and the effect of osmotic concentration, experiments were set up to determine the response of tomato plants to sodium chloride and sodium sulphate when supplied together in different proportions and at several levels of total concentration.

Effect of Calcium Chloride on Growth and Yield of Tomato under Sodium Chloride Stress
The effects of salinity and supplied calcium chloride on growth and leaf ions concentration of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum L.) were investigated in Gorgan, Iran. A factorial experiment was conducted based on RCBD with four NaCl levels (0, 50, 100, and 150 mM) and four CaCl2 levels (0, 100, 200 and 300 mg L-1). Data of growth, yield and leaf’s Ca, K, and Na content were subjected to analyze ...

One of the problems for unequal distribution of salts in the root media is toxicity of sodium (Na) and reduced uptake of some nutrients, particularly calcium (Ca) and potassium (K), by the roots growing in the saline section. There is a hypothesis that addition of Ca and K to these systems might alleviate salt-induced damages to plants. This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of Ca an...
متن کاملMolecular and biochemical protective roles of sodium nitroprusside in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) under salt stress
Salinity stresses act as inhibitor factors of plant growth. They can change the physiological characteristics and limit the production of crops. Sodium nitroprusside (SNP) is a stable free radical which use as a signalling molecule in plants and participates in various plant’s physiological, biochemical and molecular processes and also in plant’s responses to environmental stresses. We investig...
متن کاملConductometric Study of the Thermodynamics of Micellization of Sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) in the Presence of Some Aromatic Ammonium Salts
The effect of three organic aromatic salts - Phenyltrimethylammonium (PhTMAB), benzyltrimethylammonium (BzTMAB) and benzyltrimethylammonium (BzTEAB) bromides - on the micellization of sodium dodecylsulfate has been investigated by conductometric method. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) values were found to decrease with increase in the concentration of the aromatic ammonium salts. Therm...
متن کاملComparative effects of fertilizers obtained from Persian Gulf Fish Hydrosylate and macroalgae extract on growth parameters of tomato
In this study, the effects of fish liquid fertilizer (Fish Hydrosylate) and aqueous extract of green-algae (chactomopha gracilis), from cladophorales order were evaluated on growth properties of tomato. The fish liquid fertilizer obtained from Persian Gulf fish waste contained P2O5 (0.48 %), K2O (0.14 %), Fe (30.60 ppm), Zn (20.50 ppm), and N (2%). The variance analysis of the traits including ...
